| Not sure where to start? |
To organize your thoughts before our consultation you can use brochures, magazines, and newspapers to help you create the visual image of your web site. This will also help you in what you want to say on each of your pages. We will assist you, from color schemes to logo creations, but it is also extremely helpful for you to have a good idea of your own vision. Creating a list of the most important search words for your company/product will also help steer you in the direction you want to go with your web site. |

Determining your audience is important because many design & content decisions depend on who your audience is. Children? Adults? Age range? Does the audience want to be informed or entertained? Web sites must be well organized, both for the benefit of the owner and visitors. This also makes it easier to maintain. |

Imagine you are planning a 5 page brochure for your business. To do this you would first divide your content into 5 categories (or 5 web pages). Start with an overview of your product or a list of services. The goal here is to entice your customer to stay at your web site and search further. This overview would be ideal for your homepage. Statistics show that the first impression of a web site is the key to keeping and/or having a returning visitor. The homepage should draw your audience in. For all pages try to keep the layout simple & text brief. Adding graphics assists in communicating ideas. People generally do not like to read a huge amount of text, so use only the most important information. |

| ..:: FAQ's ::.. |
| What will happen at our initial meeting? |
| |
Juranek Web Design will inform you of all the areas of services we have to offer and how they can be implemented in creating your web site. We will assist you in deciding how and what content is necessary to gather for your web site or project. During this time we will also explain how the planning and design process is carried out. |
| |
| How long will it take for my web site to be finished? |
| |
The length of time depends on the size of your web site and if we have all the proper content needed to get started. Once all of the content is in hand and the contract has been signed we will being design immediately. Most developments should take no more than 3-4 weeks. This process may take longer if large amounts of graphics and programming solutions are required, or if we have not received all of the proper content for your web site. |
| |
| What content do I need to provide? |
| |
Any type of brochures, logos, business cards, company colors, marketing ads, mission statements, pictures of products/company, a detailed list of all products/services provided by your company, and any contact information that you do not mind posted publicly (via web site). These documents can assist us in getting started on your web site, but it is also imperative that you have some type of idea/vision as well. Without your own ideas, the development process will take much longer. For tips on this, please view the following link "Not sure where to start?" |
| |
| In what format(s) can you accept my content? |
| |
The correct format is very important for the development of your web site and/or project. It is critical that all the content provided is done so in the following: |
| |
- Digital Images on disc (jpeg, gif, psd, tiff or ai format). Emailing these file types is also an option.
| |
- Text content such as mission statements, etc should preferably be supplied in Word format.
| |
- If digital images are not possible, then clear photos or brochures may be used for us to scan and optimize.
| |
| How much content should I send? |
| |
Generally a good rule of thumb, the more - the better. HOWEVER - If we are creating a 5 page web site for your company, you would not send a 200 page catalogue and 1000 pictures to sort through. Furthermore, if we are creating a 10 + page web site for you, please do not send just a copy of your business card and brochure. |
| |
| Will I be able to view the progress as my web site is being developed? |
| |
Yes. When we begin the design work for your web site we will send you a preview address. This address will only be valid during the developing stages. We believe it is important for the customer to be able to view the site during key milestones to ensure your approval of functionality and design. |
